Taking Setting into Consideration

Using the Right Battens and Adhesives

Ideal spacing between each batten is around 400mm. Wider battens are used to place heavy items such as basins and radiator. If a surface is fine and flat, a strong adhesive should be used to mount the cladding. Besides having high bonding strength, the adhesive should be water and heat resistant.

Preparing the Cladding

Before putting up the cladding, it has to be prepared to ensure you get the perfect finish. It’s important to wipe the cladding with a damp cloth or cleaner to clean off dust and other particles. Sand the outer surface of cladding and then vacuum the dust. Make sure the edges and corners are processed so that each cladding panel aligns perfectly with the neighbouring ones. After that, apply two finish coats on the surface to prevent timber distortion.
